In the past few years, we have covered plenty of bio-inspired robots here. This musculoskeletal robot by Suzumori Endo Lab, Tokyo Institute of Technology is based on the anatomy of the giraffe’s neck. As you can see in the video, the neck can go forward/back and to the sides.

Atsuhiko Niikura, Yuta Ishikawa, Hiroyuki Nabae, Gen Endo, Megu Gunji, Kent Mori, Ryuma Niiyama, and Koichi Suzumori are the researchers behind this project. You can find out more here.
