Italian startup Generative Bionics has come up with a humanoid robot covered in sensing skin that can adapt to people approaching to adjust its movement.

The Gene 0.1, the robot you can see in the above video, has sensors running from its torso to its limbs. It can track touch, temperature, proximity, and force simultaneously. It can anticipate presence before contact.
