Robots and drones are going to play bigger roles in search & rescue missions in the future. Mouser Electronics, Easy Aerial Inc, and engineer Grant Imahara have joined forces to launch Project First Responders, featuring a cloud-based drone platform called GlobalARC, for autonomous search and rescue. The project aims to explore the challenges facing drones when taking on these missions.

The goal is to develop a ” GSM-based solution capable of controlling multiple drones while sharing information in real time.” Sensors are added to the drones to video capture, heat imaging, and chemical and radiation detection.
