Here is a robotic prosthetic leg that allows amputees to walk more naturally. It is driven by the nervous system. MIT researchers developed this in collaboration with folks from Brigham and Women’s Hospital. To pull this off, a surgical amputation procedure was done to reconnect the muscles in the residual limb, which allows patients to receive proprioceptive feedback.
