Here is a soft robot that uses explosive actuation to jump. Researchers from Cornell created a soft internal-combustion engine that uses methane vapor and oxygen. The top of the chamber balloons upward to generate forces up to 9.5 newtons. The actuators weigh only 325g. The below video shows this robot in action:
