Impact protection and vibration isolation are important when developing robots for real-world scenarios. MIT researchers have managed to 3D print custom soft materials to protect drones and robots. They allow robots to land safely and precisely. Standard materials were used with a non-curing liquid. Specific parts of objects can have their stiffness and elasticity programmed.
