Remote Controlled Tiny Robot Smaller Than a Flea

Here is a tiny remote controlled walking robot smaller than a flea. Northwestern University engineers are behind this peekytoe crab inspired robot. They used a shape-memory alloy material that transforms when heated. As the robot changes from one phase to another, it creates locomotion.

Researchers used a laser beam to rapidly heat the robot at different locations across its body. These robots can be made in a variety of shapes and sizes.
