In the past few years, we have covered plenty of prosthetic devices that can make life easier for amputees. The University of Michigan researchers have come up with an ultra-precise mind-controlled prosthetic hand via RPNI neural interface that gives users finger-level control.

“the researchers developed a way to tame temperamental nerve endings, separate thick nerve bundles into smaller fibers that enable more precise control, and amplify the signals coming through those nerves. The approach involves tiny muscle grafts and machine learning algorithms borrowed from the brain-machine interface field.”

The above video shows this mind-controlled prosthetic limb in action.
