Unitree is behind some of the most impressive robots we have seen. It’s Unitree G1 robots are humanoid robots that can perform a variety of moves. They can even play table tennis. Researchers have now trained a pair of these robots to play table tennis. They are capable of rallying over 100 consecutive shots. These robots perform autonomously and have sub-section reaction. They deliver human-like strikes.

As the researchers explain, to overcome the challenges of playing this came, they came up with a framework that uses “model-based planner for ball trajectory prediction and racket target planning with a reinforcement learning–based whole-body controller.”
