Robot waiters are nothing new. We have covered a bunch of them here in the past. These OriHime-D robots are different though. They are remotely controlled by people with physical disabilities. The child-sized bot stands 1.2 meters tall, weighing 20kg. Video & audio transmission is done over the Internet. The operators can move the robots using their computer or tablet.
