Meet Robo Terp 3: a bio-inspired robot that mimics the walking and swimming gaits of a terrapin. It has 3 DoF joints and can swim against the current. It rotational shoulder joint enables the robot to transition from swimming to walking.
This robot terrapin was developed in the University of Maryland’s Maryland Robotics Center. The above video shows how it performs.
