Digital Dream Labs acquired Anki assets a while ago. Many have been wondering what’s next for those cute Anki robots. The company has now launched a Kickstarter project with plan for an open source Vector robot. The idea is to make Vector more independent by taking it off external servers.
Their first project “The Escape Pod” has already gained a ton of funding on Kickstarter. The company has also announced plan for an open source kit for robots (OSKR). You can support these efforts here.
