Robots navigating mazes is nothing new. They can be pretty slow though. University of California, Berkeley, engineers have now developed a lightweight, insect-sized robot that can navigate a maze with high agility. It modulates the electrostatic forces between its feet and surfaces to navigate a LEGO maze in seconds.
This robot is made from a thin layered material that bends and contracts when electric voltage is applied. It can move at a speed of 1.5 miles per hour.
