In order to test drones properly, you will need space and the right gear. The Robotics and Perception Group and the University of Zurich have put together one of the world’s largest indoor drone-testing arenas. It comes with a real-time motion capture system with 36 Vicon cameras. It has a flight space of over 30x30x8 meters.

The World's Largest Indoor Drone-Testing Arena

The idea is to use this space to test perception, learning, planning, and control algorithms for vision-based agile drones over 60 km/h. The above video has more information on this.
