Many of us have used drones for aerial cinematography and photography in the past. MIT’s new system enables camera-equipped drones to maintain framing of an aerial shot with dynamic obstacle avoidance. A directory can specify a shot’s framing and the autonomous drone will preserve that as the subjects move.
The drone uses info about its environment to avoid stationary or moving obstacles. The above video shows how such a system works.
