Remember the Astrobees? NASA’s robotic bees that were designed to free up time for astronauts in the space station? For the first time, these robots have demonstrated autonomous operation in space. Robots like Bumble are learning to navigate the ISS autonomously to help astronauts with a wide variety of tasks.

Astrobees use fans to blow air out of their vents to fly. They use cameras to navigate and avoid obstacles. These robots can carry RFID sensors, microphone arrays, and small arms in their payload bays.
