Industrial robots keep getting smarter all the time. With AI, they will be able to take on a wide range of tasks. Aica, an EPFL spin-off, has developed an AI-based software to make programming industrial robots a whole lot easier. It is made up of preprogrammed tasks that operators can conveniently select.
These robots can adapt to variations and automatically adjust their movement to account for the new parameters. What’s neat is the software can evolve. If a task is too complicated for the robot, the program searches its database for a solution.
