In the future, we will use more sophisticated rovers for planetary exploration. Georgia Tech is working with NASA to create a scaled-down planetary robot that can work itself out of a jam. It is inspired by NASA’s RP15 rover. The rover has appendages that can lift and wiggly wheels.
The idea is to use this 3D printed rover to study locomotion on soft and sandy surfaces.
