Whole Body Imitation System for Humanoid Robots

In the past few years, we have covered plenty of interesting projects that involve using wearables to teach robots how to imitate movements of their operator. Researchers at South China University of Technology (SCUT) have come up with a whole body imitation framework that enables humanoid robots to imitate head, arm, lower-limb, and hand motions of their operator.

As the developers explain, no handheld or wearable device is required to pull this off. The above video shows how a NAO robot can mimic a variety of poses and moves of humans.
