Underwater soft robots can be challenging to control due to their high degrees of freedom. Complex fluid dynamics can make it difficult for robots to move through water. MIT CSAIL has created a machine learning system to enable these robots to move in water in a more optimal fashion.
This system was tested in a soft robotic starfish. The above video shows it in action.
