Here is a sea cucumber inspired robot that can change shape from liquid to solid state get out of tight spaces. As you can see in this video, this person-shaped robot can escape jail by turning into liquid. This reminds of us of the famous T1000 robot from the Terminator franchise.
For this robot, a phase shifting material was developed by embedding magnetic particles into gallium.
