Robots are getting more reliable but they could still end up with a shattered limb or jammed motor. Skild Brain enables robots to move even when they experience these issues. It can control any machine that walks and rolls. As you can see in the above GIF, a robot dog with its legs sawed off can still move.
According to the developers, the Skild Brain has a context window 100x longer than most robot control policies. That enables it to learn from failure. Such an approach can be used to build adaptable robots for Mars exploration.
