Amazon is always looking for new ways to deliver products to customers more conveniently. Scout is the company’s robot delivery system that can bring packages safely to customers. These autonomous vehicle are the size of a small cooler and can roll along sidewalks at a walking pace. They are already being tested in a neighborhood in Snohomish County, Washington.

Here is how Amazon Scout works:

Customers in Snohomish County order just as they normally would and their Amazon packages will be delivered either by one of our trusted partner carriers or by Amazon Scout. Customers can shop on the Amazon App or amazon.com

While the robots are autonomous, they will initially be accompanied by an Amazon employee. More info is available here.
