Meet the ScanEagle: an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle by Insitu that carries a dual imager in a gyro-stabilized turret with full pan, tilt, and zoom capabilities. ScanEagle can operate above 15,000 feet, over the battlefield for up to 20 hours.
This UAV measures 5-foot long and has a 10-foot wingspan. It can operate in land and maritime environments. The drone has a modular design. It is launched by a catapult and captured using the SkyHook recovery system.
