Here is a robot rover with built-in wheeled appendages that can overcome sand traps. It uses complex locomotion techniques to get out of tricky situations and avoid getting stuck. This mini rover uses rear rotator pedaling to climb slopes by combining paddling, walking and wheel spinning motions.
This rover has a modular architecture. It is made with commercially available parts. It was designed to study lunar and planetary exploration.
