RSTAR In-Pipe Climbing Robot

Moving in a pipe can be quite tricky without a robot designed specifically to climb. It requires smooth transition from one configuration to another from low friction to high friction situations. This video shows the RSTAR robot climbing in circular and rectangular pipes due to its reconfigurable design:

As the researchers explain, the robot comes with two mechanism to change its width and height and shift its center of mass.
