Robots with Granular Boots Move 40% Faster on Uneven Terrain

In the past few years, we have covered plenty of robots that can negotiate rough, uneven terrain. Roboticists at the University of California San Diego have developed flexible feet that enable robots to walk up to 40% faster on uneven terrain. The feet are made from coffee grounds in a latex membrane.

These flexible robots simply enable robots to walk faster on pebbles and wood chips.
