There are plenty of fancy drones on the market but not all of them are capable of grabbing and lifting objects of varying shapes. Lydia Hingston, Jonathan Mace, and Minas Liarokapis have come up with a lightweight grasping mechanism for aerial robots that enables them to grasp and release various items.
As the above video shows, these mechanisms enable drones to pick up a cricket ball, hammer, banana, and everything in between.
