Robots catching items of varying sizes and shapes is easier said than done. It is even more complex when you bring speed to this equation. Researchers at Namiki Laboratory, Chiba University have come up with a multi-vision robot hand that uses high speed cameras to enable high speed catching. The below video shows how it all works:
