In the past few years, we have covered plenty of interesting artificial skin projects that can make robots smarter. Caltech researchers have come up with an artificial skin that can give robots the ability to sense temperature, pressure, or toxic chemicals. It can give humans better control over robots while keeping them safe from hazardous conditions.
This skin technology is a part of a robotic platform (M-Bot) with a robotic arm and sensor that attach to human skin. Machine learning is used to interface the two. You can find out more about it here.
