For robots, maintaining balance while carrying an unsteady load remains a challenge. Researchers in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in collaboration with The University of Washington and Google DeepMind have come up with a new tactile sensing system that enables robots to move unsecured cylindrical objects on their backs by allowing their posture posture. These robots rely on sensor data to make adjustments.
