Robotic surgery systems are nothing new. We have covered a bunch of them here in the past. The LBR Med is KUKA’s medical robot optimized for collaboration with medical professionals. It touches patients gently and gets out of the way with a simple touch. It can be programmed to perform complex tasks in the operating room.
The robot has biocompatible and corrosion-resistant surfaces. It is responsive and has joint torque sensors. According to KUKA, the robot can assist with endoscopy or biopsies and perform other tasks.
