Human-Like Artificial Skin Sensor for Robots

Robots are getting smarter all the time. In the future, they will all
kinds of senses, including the sense of smell and touch. This video by researchers Marc Teyssier, Brice Parilusyan, Anne Roudaut and Jurgen Steimle shows a human-like artificial skin sensor that enhances human-robot interactions.

To make this, a thin layer of silicone was used as epidermis. Electrodes were put on top of the layer in a grid pattern. A viscous layer of silicone was used to create hypodermis. The electrodes were connected to the sensor board.
