Here is a robot that can climb rough surfaces and overcome wires to take on inspection, painting and other tasks. The HausBots HB1 has payload capacity of 6kg. It uses 42kg of suction force. The HB1 has a 30m range from the ground but that can be extended with a tether from the roof.
The HB1 can be used with a brush, robotic arm, spray, and surveying equipment. The above video shows it in action.
