Stanford’s Glove Gives Robots a Sense of Touch

😎 New DIY robot kits

In the past few years, we have covered a whole host of robots that can handle fragile food items and other objects. Stanford researchers have come up with an electronic glove that gives robots a sense of touch. It enables robotic hands to touch delicate items without squashing them.

The sensors used in the glove’s fingertips measure the intensity and direction of pressure to achieve dexterous handling of objects. A robot wearing this glove can hold an egg without squashing it. More info is available here.
