In the past few months, we have covered plenty of cool robotic welders here. The FANUC ARC Mate 100iD arc welding robot is also worth a look. It can weld automotive components. Here is how it works:

While the FANUC ARC Mate 100iD robot first performs a simulation of its MIG welding process, a FANUC LR Mate 200iD robot, equipped with a servo robot sensor, loads coupons to the fixture for welding. Next, the ARC Mate 100iD robot will perform real-time seam tracking before MIG welding the coupons, which are held in a fixture within an automotive suspension cradle.

Once the job is done, the LR Mate 200iD is used to perform inspection. This solution is ready for high-speed welding. You can find out more here.
