The DARPA Subterranean challenge is all about finding new ways to rapidly map, navigate, and search underground environments. This video from Carnegie Mellon University show how a team from Carnegie Mellon University and Oregon State will take on this challenge.

Carnegie Mellon Subterranean Team Heads Underground

The idea is to send teams of ground and aerial robots into an incomplete nuclear power plant for search & rescue. They will scale stairs and search for “artifacts.”
