Robots are doing many things for us already, including performing surgeries techniques that would be impossible with human hands alone. The goal is to use robots to perform minimally invasive robotic surgeries, so patients recover faster.
The robot enables surgeons to perform surgeries with small incisions. Its wristed instruments bend and rotate far greater than the human hand. This video shows how da Vinci is being used at St. Francis Health Center.
