CSAIL’s Gesture Controller for Drones

😎 New DIY robot kits

Controlling a drone with a joystick or mobile phone is convenient but what if you want to use your hands to get a better feel for piloting? CSAIL has developed a system for piloting drones using hand and arm gestures. It involves wearing electromyographic electrodes and motion sensors on the biceps, triceps, and forearm.

The system doesn’t require offline calibration or training data for each user. It can be used for other robot applications.
