The CMU Ballbot is a human-sized dynamically stable mobile robot that balances itself on a single ball and can move in all direction. It has a high center of gravity and small footprint. It does have 3 legs that keep it stable when powered down. This video shows how it can maintain its balance while holding a cup of water and water bottle on its hands.
