Blue: UC Berkeley’s Low Cost VR-Controlled Robot Arm

Here is a new robot arm developed by UC Berkeley researchers that provides a cheap platform for AI experimentation. Blue costs around $5000 and can be controlled via a virtual reality headset. Blue’s arms can be stiff or flexible and sensitive to outside forces.

These robots can learn by trial and error or from demonstration. The above video shows them in action.
